Sun Exposure Makes Pimples Go Away – Fact Or Fiction?

This is one of the biggest acne myths around. Regardless of your skin colour, type or age, sun exposure will dry, damage and age your skin. Proection is essential.

It is understandable however why this myth continues; on exposure to the sun, skin dries and ages. When acne skin dries up, the bacteria have less to feed on so the acne lessens.

This short term improvement however is ineveitably followed by an onslaught of much worse acne… Dry skin means dead skin cells. Dry acne-prone skin means a sudden burst of oil as your skin tries to rehydrate. These two factors combined provide a perfect scenario for another acne outbreak.

When you have acne, your skin is not at its most healthy. It is fighting bacteria attacking it while trying to regenerate as fast as it can to get rid of the acne and guard against scarring. The last thing it needs is to have the sun drying it out and creating more scaly dead skin cells sitting on top of your pores to block them and encourage your acne.

With less dead skin cells sitting on your skin to clog your pores, you also have less dead skin cells to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. With a battle going on inside your pores, your skin is too preoccupied to effectively fight off sun damage as well.

The bottom line is that you must protect your skin. Sun exposure is damaging for normal skin but for acne skin it is even more incredibly harmful.

How do I protect my skin?

If your moisturiser contains both a UVA and a UVB sunscreen and has an SPF of at least 15, you can skip this. If not, you will need to apply a sunscreen to your face first thing every morning.

If your moisturiser does not contain adequate sunscreen or you want to make doubly sure by applying a separate sunscreen, the application process is very similar to applying your moisturiser.

1. Wait until your moisturiser has soaked in.
2. Wash your hands, rinse thoroughly and dry.
3. Apply your sunscreen to the palms of your hands.
4. Rub your palms together to warm up your sunscreen. This helps activate the emollients and humectants in the sunscreen so it is more likely to soak into your skin.
5. Pat your sunscreen gently onto your skin until it has soaked in. Try not to rub it in.

Protection top tips

- Sunscreens and sunblocks usually protect your skin from many types of pollution as well as sun damage. Wear it all the time unless you are in bed asleep.

- Apply your sunscreen even if you are planning to spend the day indoors, it is raining or you are going to be underground. The sun’s rays can be travel through glass and are often magnified by bouncing off cloud cover.

- If you are going out in the evening after you have done your evening skincare routine make sure to apply your sunscreen too. You need to wear protection anytime you are outside and there is no damage to your skin in having sunscreen on overnight.

- If you cannot avoid going out in the direct sun, apply sunscreen every two hours, wear sun protective clothing, a hat and sunglasses. Especially avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm as this is when the risk of sun damage is highest.

Under no circumstances should you actively seek sun exposure, use tanning beds or purposefully sunbathe if you have acne. While you may see a short term gain, in the long term you are in fact encouraging your acne and making it worse.

Look after your skin and it will start to reward you by becoming healthier.

Compared with men, women are more conscious about their physical appearance. They tend to spend money, time, and effort to look good. From facials to diamond peels, to major plastic surgery and liposuction, these women would stop at nothing just to improve their beauty. It should not be a surprise why women are so conscious about physical beauty. Everyday, women are battered by advertisements and media messages about the virtues of physical perfection.

Nowadays, women think that being slim would be nice, adding up the spotless smooth skin and shiny hair. If one looks around, there are a lot of diet programs that can help in staying thin, or simply not getting fat. Diet programs such as the Atkin’s diet, Mediterranean diet, and the glycemic impact diet offers simple solutions to women with weight problems. However, women are prone to seeing exaggeration in certain cases. For example, they tend to skip meals and just eat crackers and water for their daily food consumption. This is fairly dangerous to the woman’s health since there are a lot of different vitamins and essential nutrients that are not included in a pack of crackers.

The problem with women today is that they see being thin as beautiful. This basic idea is just formed by our own society, for reasons we really do not need to know. A lot of women, especially young women, are now developing eating disorders like bulimia, thinking that extremely thin is better than being fat. How to tell if Ugg Australia boots are genuine, real or fake

The big question we all ask when we are looking to buy genuine Ugg australia’s, but also try and save a bit of money.

We usually turn to ebay, but most of the Ugg’s for sale on ebay are fake. So how do we tell the difference between the real ones and fake ones?

The most obvious is the price, if you think its to cheap, or too good to be true, its probably fake.

But here are the things to look out for to help you decide if fake or real.

The Sole
1) The bottom of the Ugg’s are recessed with the UGG logo in a Classic tall or Classic short Authentic Ugg. A fake is flat.

2) The sole in a real ugg is flexible. The fakes are more rigid and stiff.

Labels

The outside UGG labels are subtly different. Note how ‘australia’ is in a bolder font on the fake. On the real UGG, the , is right in the middle of the open jaws of the ‘G’, in many of the fakes the it is right at the top of the jaw. In many fake UGGS, the label is also too high up on the heel. Believe it or not, genuine Classic Deckers UGGS are made in China. The fake Decker Classic UGGS always say made in New Zealand or sometimes Australia.

If the Ugg’s are pictured with a blue or brown label pinned to them, hanging by a string, then they are fake. Real genuine Ugg australia’s to not come with and labels pinned to them.

Fur

A genuine Deckers UGG has real sheepskin fur on the interior. Its fluffy looking and also thicker and a rich cream colour. The fake uses synthetic ‘fur’, is slightly grey, thinner and also small pieces of the ‘fur’ come away when rubbed.

Size

Real ugg’s are made large, so if someone is advertising them saying, they are a bit smaller than the size, so order a size larger, then this is a good sign they are fakes. But at the same time, many people selling the Ugg’s will just say they are slightly larger in order to get a sale, so be sure to check for urself.

These marks on the skin have been around for many years, and in some cultures, these are distinctive marks that are relevant to the local area. Bedouin women throughout the Middle East have had markings on their skin for many years. These marks on the women in the local cultures of the Middle East have significant meaning to all of the people in the area. Some Japanese people also had these marks on their faces.

People in other countries have had these marks including people in the Philippines, Borneo, Cambodia and China. Tattoos have appeared in many different cultures and countries although the attitudes toward these marks on the skin vary from one country to another. Some of the tattoos are merely considered to be marks of beauty while in other countries these may have significant meaning to all of the people of that culture. These designs on the skin could be a sign of age, marriage or tribal affiliation depending on the culture. Tattoos have also been used to mark people for nefarious reasons such as those used by the Nazis.

Tattoos Are Now Made With Modern Machines

The procedures for creating tattoos vary in different places, but in the modern world there are machines specially designed to create these marks on the skin. These machines can create many different images according to the requests of the customer. Rather than using the one needle that might have been used in the past, these machines use many needles to insert the pigments under the skin. These needles work quickly to create an image on the skin of the customer. Although the procedure is painful, the pain involved is bearable for each customer. The machines are operated currently by people who realize the importance of sanitation when inserting these needles to create the preferred image.

The modern day tattoos can come in a variety of colors, and there are some people who have these marks applied over a large percentage of their bodies. Other people want small, delicate tattoos. These people often want the tattoos that they can easily conceal when participating in formal activities. They might conceal these marks from their employers at all times. Once created these images are difficult to remove although modern techniques using lasers make removal possible. Unfortunately, removing tattoos can be very expensive and uncomfortable. How to Draw and Design Anime

Different artists have different ideas on how to design your Anime . Some prefer to write the entire script out before working on their images. Some prefer to go panel by panel, writing one panel and then drawing it before working on writing the next one. It is generally a good idea to start with at least a basic outline. This will help you ensure that you are pacing well and that you don’t leave out key elements you will later have to go back and add in.

There are several ideas for inspiration for people who are unsure of how to start designing their own Anime . One idea is to study art history. Understanding the dynamics of art before you get started can be a great tool.  Don’t just read up on or look at pieces of art that will apply specifically to your work. Understanding the history of your art and what came before it can give you a better understanding of the art you are working on. It can also give you ideas on how to incorporate different elements into your Anime that you hadn’t considered.

Reading different drawing technique books can be a huge help as well.  No matter how good an artist is, there’s always room for improvement. Taking advantage of different drawing exercises can be immensely rewarding in a number of ways. They will likely force you to think outside the box by doing exercises on things you aren’t used to doing. Stretching your imagination will help you to be more creative in your own work. It’ll also help you to learn what your strengths and weaknesses are. Some artists would never know they were particularly talented in drawing certain action scenes or particular body shapes if they didn’t force themselves to try drawing exercises.

Of course drawing your Anime is only half of your design. You also want to make sure you have effective and interesting writing as well. No matter how good your drawings are or how well you shade your panels, if the story is uninteresting or written poorly your reader will not be interested.  Study up on writing books to learn proper techniques for creating tension, pacing and other aspects of writing. You can also go back and study examples that you particularly like. Reading you favorite Anime with a more critical eye can be very helpful. Pay attention to the way the writer worked on their dialog, transitions and other aspects of their writing.  Make a note of the things that did and did not work for you and plan your own art accordingly.

An :Eggciting” Party is a fun birthday theme or a great way to get together with your near and close buddies. Surprise them with lots of eggs.

“The guy’s think I’ve holes in my head, if I ask them over for an Easter Egg Hunt.” Sandy brushed a lock of his stubborn red hair back with grimy ringers.

I sighed as I watched him. He certainly had outgrown the adorable stage when he delighted to celebrate his April birthday by having his friends over for an Easter Egg Hunt. But in spite of his long legs and grimy appearance he still wanted a birthday party.

“Can’t we think up something to do, Mom that big fellows my age would like?”
I kept to myself the thought that eleven wasn’t exactly old age. “Maybe we could have an Easter party and plan some different games.”

“I know, Mom! Let’s have an egg party. Egg eats, egg games, egg stunts, egg everything.”
“Eggs, son? That sounds awfully well eggy. But make your plans and I’ll help.”
When he first outlined his ideas to me, I thought, “That party will take so many eggs it may be rather expensive.” But when I realized that the only expense for the games and decorations would be the cost of the eggs used, I decided that it would really be an inexpensive party. Thus it came about that Sandy gave an egg party on Easter Monday, his birthday.

He cut the egg-shaped invitations from colored construction paper. The invitations read, “Come to Sandy’s house on Monday at eggctly 3 P.M. for an eggciting afternoon.” Then off he dashed on his bicycle to deliver his invitations.

Promptly on the hour eleven well-scrubbed boys arrived, eager for anything that sounded like fun. Just in case an April shower might chase us into the house later in the afternoon we staged our egg-catching contest first. That was the only one of our planned games that could not be played in the house.

The game goes this way: Six boys, each with a raw egg, line up faced by a partner. Each of the six boys on one side tosses the egg in his possession to the boy facing him who stands three feet from him. If this boy catches the egg without breaking it, each boy takes a big step backwards. If the egg is not caught but smashes to the ground that couple is eliminated. After each throw each partner moves backward one step. You’ll be surprised at what an exciting game this is, and how adept eleven-year-olds are at tossing and catching raw eggs. The two boys who finally won were made leaders in the “Egg Relay Race.”

Two hard-boiled eggs were used for the relay. The two leaders took turns choosing team mates. The lads then formed two lines, the one boy directly behind the other. Every lad was given a teaspoon with instructions to hold the handle between his teeth. A hard-boiled egg was placed in the bowl of the spoon of each of the two leaders. At a signal the leaders, with their hands behind them, ran to a goal across the lawn without dropping the eggs. If the lad accomplished it he grabbed the spoon in his hand, ran back to the line and placed the egg in the spoon of the boy who stood just back of him in line.

If the egg was dropped in transit the boy carrying it picked it up, placed it back on the spoon before advancing farther. The team completing the race first was declared “Eggsperts.”

This party is a great fun for the kids of eleven. Thought it need quite a big number of eggs but is not worth then the joy it can give to your young kids.

Options in Acne Treatment

Acne treatment is one of the most common requests dermatologists hear from their patients. The condition generally begins in the teenage years, but can affect people into their thirties and forties. Blemishes often cause people to avoid social situations and, in extreme cases, can lead to feelings of depression.

The exact cause of acne is not known, but there are several theories. One is that break outs tend to be hereditary. If parents and siblings suffer from it, you may too. Another is that the hormones that surge through the body in puberty cause the sebaceous glands to increase in size and produce more oils. This leads to an increase in blemishes. Other hormonal causes include pregnancy, menstruation and birth control pills.

Although the exact cause of this skin condition is unknown, there are factors that can aggravate it. Squeezing a blemish can spread bacteria and cause more break outs on your face. Excessive humidity and sweating can also spread bacteria and aggravate the condition.

There are several myths surrounding acne. Stress is thought to cause acne, but it does not. However, the stress you feel as a result of the pimples is real. Consider relaxation techniques, reading the bible and prayer as a way to reduce this stress. Other myths include diet and having dirty skin.

Proper skin care can help prevent the spread of acne. Improper skin care can actually make blemishes worse. Excessive scrubbing with harsh cleansers is drying, causes irritations and can create more pimples. Use a gentle cleanser no more than twice a day, if your skin is excessively oily, you can wash three times. Look for a gentle cleanser that is made for your skin type. Salicylic acid is a good ingredient to look for.

Don’t use astringent unless you have very oily skin. Astringents can dry out the skin and make it worse. You may be tempted to skip the moisturizer, but don’t do this. Your skin needs moisture. Choose a product that is made for people who are prone to pimples. Look for an oil free, non acnegenic lotion.

Dermatologists can help with acne treatment. Topical ointments and oral medications can be prescribed for extreme cases. Many of these prescriptions can cause photosensitivity. You should always wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, if you go in the sun while using prescription medications. For maximum rejuvenation, your doctor may recommend a chemical peel.

The Halloween Trail of Terror

Another delightful Halloween party is a progressive Halloween party. The advantage of the house-to-house party is that youngsters can be out of doors part of the time which gives them active exercise that fulfills yearnings for a rip-roaring good time. Tip a tip on how to make this party success.

The young guests may be asked to come, masked, to Pumpkin-Face Inn. The address must be that of the first house on the trail. The guests upon their arrival are given a small sack of buttered corn and four crackers. Here each guest submits to the “Ghost Test” which consists of eating the four crackers and then whistling. Try it sometime and see what a feat it is. The first successful whistler is given a lollypop.

The group is then told that there are paper pumpkins hidden throughout the house. The guests are divided into four groups, each with a leader. Each leader is provided with a string on which to put the paper pumpkins when found. Each group chooses a signal such as barking, meowing or crowing. No one except the leader is allowed to pick up a pumpkin. When one of the others finds a pumpkin he places his finger on it and barks or meows or does whatever his group is supposed to do until the leader comes to pick it up. The group, whose leader has the longest string of pumpkins, wins. This game is very hilarious and youngsters love the noise that they can make while playing it.

The party then proceeds to the second house which is completely dark. An adult ghost (or two) accompanies the group from house to house. The second place is called Haunted House. The leader raps on the door three times; a ghost opens the door and instructs the guests to form a lock-step line and to follow him. Amid shrieks and groans the guests are led through the house and finally into a dimly lit room and told a ghost story.

After the ghost story the youngsters are provided with paper sacks, crayons and scissors with which to construct a mask. The best one is chosen by popular applause and the winner awarded a prize. Each youngster is then given a pocketful of peanuts and they all proceed to Witch’s Cavern.

Here there is an old witch with a cauldron full of cookies and fortunes. The children are greatly delighted with the fortunes given them by the witch. They are then conducted to the kitchen of the home. Here apples bob in a tub full of water. Each child tries his luck at bobbing for apples. An apple is the reward for the guest who is able to rescue an apple from the water with his teeth. The one or two unsuccessful youngsters are then given apples before they proceed to the next house.

The Hideout is the last of the four houses. At the Hide-out the guests are seated on the floor with a bowl of slippery pumpkin seeds in the center. Each child is given a needle and thread. At a given signal the children all begin to string the slippery pumpkin seeds. At the end of ten minutes a prize is given the youngster with the most seeds on his string.

Then the children are presented with a ball of Witch’s Yarn. The first child unwinds the ball until he finds a slip of paper with his fortune on it. He then throws the ball to another child who unwinds until he finds his fortune, etc. Enough fortunes have been tied in the ball of yarn so that each guest will receive one.

The children are then served Halloween Sundaes. Halloween Sundaes are orange ice cream over which chocolate syrup is poured, topped off with imitation black spiders and chopped nuts.

The youngsters thoroughly enjoy this Halloween “Trail of Terror” party. Best of all it is not a great deal of work or expense for any one family, for the four families in the neighborhood who give the party share the work and expense. Perhaps you’d like to try this plan in your neighborhood.

The St. Patricks Day Party

Sure, ’tis a fine time to give a party St. Patrick’s Day. Make it a family party invite the Caseys, the McCarthys, the Flanagans, and the O’Tooles. Include the Smiths and the Joneses, for we know, no matter what the name of your friends they will enjoy this type of fun.

Decorations are no problem with plenty of green and white tissue to cover the lights, and decorate the table. Don’t neglect clay pipes and shamrocks in your decoration scheme.

Invitations need be only simple little notes printed on green shamrocks:
‘Tis St. Patrick’s Day We’re celebrating ‘Tis the wearing of the Green You’ll not be forgetting March 17th, 7 P.M.

Meet your guests at the door with a big green top hat filled with numbers. This hat can be made of cardboard, or an ordinary hat can be covered with green crepe paper. Let each arriving guest draw a number from the hat green for the males and white for the women and girls with corresponding numbers.

When everyone has arrived you are all set for a bit of Irish blarney. The host or hostess calls out a man’s number. He then proceeds to blarney his unknown partner by telling her, among other things, what he considers the loveliest thing about her. When he has finished his blarney the much complimented lady steps to his side.

Another number is called who in no uncertain words expresses his admiration for the “willowy slenderness” of his partner. When his corresponding number steps out they are greeted with shouts of laughter. She turns out to be the chunky young neighbor girl next door.

Keeping their partners, the entire group, with the exception of one person, forms a circle males to the left of the girls. This one person takes her place in the center of the circle. Everybody marches to the following words (tune: “We Won’t Be Home Until Morning”):
Got a pig in the parlor Got a pig in the parlor Got a pig in the parlor, And he is Irish too And he is Irish too And he is Irish too, Got a pig in the parlor Got a pig in the parlor Got a pig in the parlor And he is Irish too.

The ladies continue marching in the direction in which they are going while the men turn about and go in the other direction. When this change is made the “pig” from the center joins the circle. The leader blows the whistle, and there is a scramble for new partners. One is bound to be left out and he now becomes the “pig.” After several scrambles for partners the ice is pretty well broken and the whistle sounds for change of game.
